Drew: Well that for me goes into another segue if you will…and your outlook on life is so magnanimous and what I was reading when I was doing the cold open was about the part where they came to you on the ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ to see if you wanted to meet your mother. And it really struck me personally because I’ve thought a lot about, ‘Should I talk to my mom on this show?’ and you wanna like almost cut yourself open in the most beautiful, metaphorical way and not have any of those walls.

Kristin: But we have to because we’re human.

Ross: What did you do in that moment, how did you handle that.

Kristin: Well I just said, ‘No I can’t do that.’ I love Oprah. I wanted to do it so bad but I just thought, ‘That’s a private moment.’ Also I wasn’t ready, and the locator, the guy that she had started the ball rolling called me out of the blue and he said, ‘I don’t know but I have the feeling I’m supposed to reach out to you and tell you you need to meet your birth mom’…he said ‘I’ll mediate it,’ we met in Texas. We met in Dallas. I was doing a concert there at the Dallas Opera and I thought, ‘We’ll just do two things at once,’ not even thinking how emotional, I walk in the door and there’s this tiny little me. She’s going, ‘Oh my gosh, oh my gosh. It’s you and you’re me and I’m you,’ we just kept repeating it. And then she said, ‘Are you mad at me?’ and I said, ‘You gave me life’….

Kristin on Her Wild Job as a Singing Telegram

Kristin: When I was eighteen, of course we don’t do these anymore, I was at OCU my college and I needed an extra job so I was a singing telegram person. This man ordered for his other male friend and I didn’t what the subject was, why, but you dress as Little Bo Peep and I was supposed to sing, ‘You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling,’ so ding dong and he was like…and I was like, ‘What’s wrong?’ he goes, ‘I just got a vasectomy.’

Ross:…Whoever his friend is is hilarious.

Kristin Invited Random People to Prince’s House After the Emmys and He Gave a Private Concert

Kristin: I had another date, I was nominated for an Emmy and this particular time I did not win it, and he was watching me and he said, ‘Invite everybody you know to come over.’ And I did invite strangers like Michael Hall from ‘Dexter.’ I was like, ‘I know we don’t know each other but would you like to go to Prince’s house?’ I just asked everybody at the Emmys and they’re all like, ‘Yes,’ and he did a three-hour concert.
