(September 8th, 2022, New York, NY) – Drew Barrymore, Host of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the nationally syndicated daytime show returning for season three on Monday, September 12th, wants to give you good news on the go with the launch of the “Drew’s News” podcast.
“Drew’s News,” an off-shoot of the successful signature “Drew’s News” segment on her daytime show, is your source for all the latest fun, inspiring and informative news you need to know. Every week, a special guest joins Drew to help break down the latest quirky stories, from the newest interior design trend, “Barbiecore,” to the right and wrong ways to wash your armpits, Drew’s News covers it all.
Joining Drew for her maiden voyage into the podcast pond is “Literally! with Rob Lowe” podcast Host Rob Lowe. Drew and Rob will tackle everything from a new dog breaking up a Hollywood couple to the male nipple having its moment. Other guests this season include Jay Shetty, Casey Wilson and Benito Skinner.
“We are flipping the script this season and taking a 360 approach to create a more robust experience for our viewers and followers which is more reflective of how people are consuming pop culture,” said Barrymore.
As part of a new CBS plan to reimagine a traditional daytime format, “The Drew Barrymore Show” returns this season as two half-hour episodes that can seamlessly run together back-to-back or be split apart to air separately. These new 30-minute episodes will be at a faster pace, giving the audience what they want. The digital, social and new podcast platform will continue to be a distribution channel for the show with more original content including the show’s expansion of YouTube Originals, behind-the-scenes footage and serve as a place for audience engagement to continue.
“Drew continues to push boundaries and creates new spaces because innovation is her inspiration, disruptor is in her DNA. Which is why she is the pioneer stepping into break up the antiquated daytime talk format and take this inventive 360 approach,” said Jason Kurtz, Executive Producer.
“Drew’s News” podcast debuts Friday, September 16th and is available across all major podcast platforms. A new episode will air every Friday.
