SHOWTIME HONORED WITH FIVE SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARD NOMINATIONS
NURSE JACKIE's Edie Falco Remains The Most Nominated Actor
In SAG Awards History With Her 22nd Nomination
NEW YORK – December 9, 2015 – This morning, SHOWTIME was honored with five Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for The 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® presented by SAG-AFTRA, tying the record for the most nominations ever in the network’s history. NURSE JACKIE's Edie Falco held her title as the most nominated actor in SAG Awards history with her 22nd nomination this morning for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her role as "Jackie Peyton" on the series’ seventh and final season.
For the fourth consecutive year, the cast of HOMELAND was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, and Claire Danes received her fourth individual nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series. Danes won the SAG Award in 2013 for her critically-acclaimed performance as "Carrie Mathison." Additionally, the stunt cast of HOMELAND was nominated for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series for the third consecutive year. HOMELAND airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
On the heels of his Screen Actors Guild Award win in this category last year, SHAMELESS star William H. Macy was honored with his second consecutive series nomination for his role as “Frank Gallagher” for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series. This is Macy’s tenth Screen Actors Guild nomination overall. SHAMELESS returns for a sixth season on Sunday, January 10th at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Edie Falco received her seventh consecutive nomination for Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her work on NURSE JACKIE – she has been nominated for every season of the series, previously receiving six individual nominations and an ensemble nod in 2013. Falco is a five-time Screen Actors Guild Award winner. Throughout her career, she has been nominated 14 times for individual performances and eight times for ensemble performances.
