CBS UNVEILS THE IDENTITIES OF THE 11 COUPLES COMPETING IN "THE AMAZING RACE 2"

Second Installment of Critically Acclaimed Series, Premieres March 11

The identities of the 11 couples competing in THE AMAZING RACE 2 were announced today. The critically acclaimed adventure series pits teams against one another in a race around the world for a $1 million prize. The series will have a special preview on Monday, March 11 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) before moving to its regular Wednesday (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) time period on March 13.

CBS News' THE EARLY SHOW, with Bryant Gumbel and Jane Clayson, officially announced the new teams on this morning's (Feb. 13) broadcast.

THE AMAZING RACE 2 will send 11 teams -- each comprised of two people who have a pre-existing relationship with one another -- on a trek around the world for approximately 30 days. At every destination, each couple will have to compete in a series of challenges -- some mental and some physical -- and only when the tasks have been completed will they learn their next destination. Couples who are farthest behind will gradually be eliminated as the contest progresses, with the first team to arrive at the final destination winning $1 million.

Jerry Bruckheimer and Bertram van Munster (who co-created the series along with Elise Doganieri) are the executive producers for Bruckheimer Films and Earthview Inc. in association with Touchstone Television and CBS Productions.
