Guest Stars Include Michelle Branch, Gloria Estefan, Blake Shelton and Oakland A's Pitcher Barry Zito
NEW YORK, NY: (April 7, 2003) Joining star Chris Isaak in the third season of the critically-acclaimed SHOWTIME Original Series THE CHRIS ISAAK SHOW, are special musical guest stars including Latin pop diva Gloria Estefan; Grammy®-winner Michelle Branch, who won for Best Pop Collaboration and was also nominated for Best New Artist in 2002; singer/songwriter and frontman for Poison Bret Michaels and Blake Shelton whose single "The Baby" is currently number one on Billboard's Country charts. Also making an appearance this season is Oakland A's pitcher Barry Zito. The 13-episode show is currently in production and will wrap in early June. Season three of the series is slated to premiere in Fourth Quarter 2003.
Part comedy and part reality, THE CHRIS ISAAK SHOW, is an irreverent behind-the-scenes look at the life of a rock star. The series features Chris, his real life band members: Kenney Dale Johnson (drummer), Hershel Yatovitz (guitar) and Rowland Salley (bass), and an ensemble of created characters including Kristin Dattilo as Yola, Chris' sexy manager; Jed Rees as Anson thekeyboardist and Greg Winter as Cody, Yola's nemesis at the management company.
On tap for season three, Chris's sense of civic duty is aroused when his favorite free parking spot at the public beach is designated a red zone. Chris vows to fight for the public's civil liberties and, with the support of Michelle Branch and his band, decides to run for parking commissioner. As a long-time baseball fan Chris, who often tries to meld his American boy-next-door lifestyle with his rock-star profession, revels in his newfound friendship with star baseball pitcher Barry Zito. That is, until he discovers that Barry can do just about everything better than he can.
In addition to this season's special guests, the CHRIS ISAAK SHOW has attracted guest stars such as Bridget Fonda, Minnie Driver, John Corbett, Stevie Nicks, Trisha Yearwood, Gavin Rossdale (Bush), Adam Arkin, Green Day, The Goo Goo Dolls, Shelby Lynne, Steven Jenkins (Third Eye Blind), Sophie B. Hawkins, Paul Stanley (KISS), Bai Ling, Caroline Rhea, Joseph Bologna, Kathy Griffin, Joe Walsh, Vince Neil, Lisa Loeb and others.
