CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN” IS THE #1 SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS PROGRAM IN VIEWERS ON MAY 15
“Face the Nation” Remains the Season’s Most-Watched Sunday Morning Public Affairs Program
FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show in viewers on Sunday, May 15, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION delivered 2.7 million viewers with 460,000 in adults 25-54 for the week. The program has ranked #1 in 32 of 34 weeks this season and for the last 11 consecutive weeks.
Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show in viewers for the second consecutive year (leading NBC by +379,000 viewers) and is leading NBC for the first time in seven years in the women 25-54 demographic.
Sunday’s broadcast featured moderator Margaret Brennan’s interviews with Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY); Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown; Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg; former FDA commissioner and current Pfizer board member Dr. Scott Gottlieb; Goldman Sachs senior chairman Lloyd Blankfein; and former Secretary of Defense under President Trump Mark Esper.
Sunday’s broadcast also featured Nancy Chen reporting on the deadly mass shooting in Buffalo, N.Y., which is now being investigated by the Department of Justice as a hate crime and an act of “racially motivated violent extremism.” Robert Costa reported from Pennsylvania, where top Republicans are flocking in the final days before Tuesday’s red-hot Senate primary election. Charlie D’Agata reported on Finland’s announcement that it wants to join NATO, and Ukraine’s key victory in the battle for Kharkiv, the country’s second-largest city. Additionally, Mark Strassmann reported from Atlanta on Americans’ growing frustration with inflation, as gas, food and housing prices continue to climb.
