CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN” IS THE #1 SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS PROGRAM IN VIEWERS ON APRIL 24

Face the Nation” Remains the Season’s Most-Watched Sunday Morning Public Affairs Program

FACE THE NATION with MARGARET BRENNAN was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show on Sunday, April 24, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION delivered 2.6 million viewers with 374,000 in adults 25-54 for the week.

Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show in viewers for the second consecutive year (leading NBC by +372,000 viewers) and is leading NBC for the first time in seven years in the women 25-54 demographic.

Sunday’s broadcast featured moderator Margaret Brennan’s interviews with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, former FDA commissioner and current Pfizer board member Dr. Scott Gottlieb, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and the president of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde.

CBS News’ Charlie D’Agata reported from eastern Ukraine, as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had been pressing the West for more weapons ahead of an expected visit from Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. David Martin joined Brennan in the studio as he reported on U.S. efforts to rush weapons and ammunition to Ukraine to repel Russian attacks in the East. Mark Strassmann reported from Atlanta on the confusion last week over masks, mandates and vaccines for the very youngest. Robert Costa also joined Brennan in the studio to talk about the fallout from leaked phone calls that revealed that House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy told Republican colleagues that he planned to tell President Donald Trump he “should resign” after Jan. 6, 2021.
