CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN” IS THE #1 SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS PROGRAM IN VIEWERS ON MARCH 20

Face the Nation” Remains the Season’s Most-Watched Sunday Morning Public Affairs Program

FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show on March 20, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION delivered 3.0 million viewers and 515,000 in adults 25-54 for the week.

Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show in viewers for the second consecutive year (leading NBC by +383,000 viewers) and is leading NBC for the first time in seven years in the women 25-54 demographic.

Sunday’s broadcast featured moderator Margaret Brennan’s exclusive interviews with U.S. Secretary of Defense Gen. Lloyd Austin III; China’s ambassador to the U.S., Qin Gang; Minority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY); Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.S., Oksana Markarova; and former FDA commissioner and current Pfizer board member Dr. Scott Gottlieb.

CBS News’ Charlie D’Agata reported from Kyiv on allegations by Ukrainian authorities that Russia bombed an art school sheltering civilians. Elizabeth Palmer reported from London on how China and Europe are dealing with a new surge of COVID-19 infections. Brennan closed the program with her thoughts on the ongoing war in Ukraine and the important role that journalism plays in telling the truth of the conflict.
