CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER” IS THE #1 SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS SHOW

“FACE THE NATION” FINISHES FIRST IN VIEWERS, ADULTS 25-54 – THE DEMOGRAPHIC MOST IMPORTANT TO THOSE WHO ADVERTISE IN NEWS – AND HOUSEHOLDS ON JUNE 23

“FACE THE NATION” IS UP +60% IN ADULTS 25-54, +17% IN VIEWERS AND +18% IN HOUSEHOLDS COMPARED TO THE SAME DAY LAST YEAR

         CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show. FACE THE NATION finished first in viewers, adults 25-54 – the demographic most important to those who advertise in news – and households on Sunday, June 23. The CBS broadcast posted 2.79m viewers, 0.8/04 in adults 25-54 and 2.0/06 in households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 66% of the CBS affiliates.

         Compared to the same day last year, FACE THE NATION is up +60% in adults 25-54 (from 0.5/03), +17% in viewers (from 2.38m) and +18% in households (from 1.7/05).

         Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in viewers, adults 25-54 and households. Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +9% in viewers (3.18m from 2.93m), +10% in households (2.3/06 from 2.1/06) and +14% in adults 25-54 (0.8/03 from 0.7/03) compared to last year.

         On the broadcast, Kevin O’Flynn, reporting for CBS News, provided the latest from Moscow on the search for NSA leaker Edward Snowden. CBS News Justice and Homeland Security Correspondent Bob Orr and CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett also reported the latest on the case. Bob Schieffer interviewed Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA); Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN); and Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL). Schieffer also hosted a panel with Gerald Seib of The Wall Street Journal; Susan Page of USA Today; Bobby Ghosh of Time magazine; and CBS News Political Director John Dickerson, in addition to Orr and Garrett.

         FACE THE NATION is broadcast on Sundays at 10:30 AM, ET (check local listings) on the CBS Television Network. Mary Hager is the Executive Producer.
