TRANSCRIPT OF PREVIEW

GAYLE KING: Is the issue with you that she shared things that you think should have been private? Or is the issue that you don’t believe it?

CONNIE BOSS ALEXANDER: Both.

KING: Both.

BOSS ALEXANDER: I’m not saying that my son was perfect. Um, I do believe he had experiences where he tried this, that or the other.

KING: Mm-hmm.

BOSS ALEXANDER: Um, but no, I don’t believe that there was that type of issue, that type of problem. And don’t get me wrong, um, I applaud speaking about mental health awareness, ‘cause of course, there was something going on there at the end that we’re not aware of. So I applaud that ... and if that was the intent of the book to make people aware, look out for these type of signs, there’s a way to say that in general ...

KING: Mm-hmm.

BOSS ALEXANDER: ... without denigrating the memory and the legacy that he built and that’s there for his children, you know, there’s now this question in the air when his name comes up.

KING: Mm-hmm.

BOSS ALEXANDER: And that bothered me.

KING: You do feel his memory has been denigrated?

BOSS ALEXANDER: I do. I do.
