“60 MINUTES” IS #1 FOR A SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK
MAKES THE TOP 10 FOR THE 20TH TIME IN A ROW
60 MINUTES is Nielsen’s #1 primetime program for the second straight week. The CBS Newsmagazine drew 8.13 million viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sunday, Feb. 28. It was the 20th consecutive time 60 MINUTES made the list of America’s top 10 primetime programs. The broadcast finished at #5 or higher in 15 of those weeks.
The last time 60 MINUTES achieved back-to-back # 1 weekly finishes in-season came on the weeks ending May 10 and 17, 2020. This is the third time the CBS Newsmagazine landed at #1 this season.
Sunday’s 60 MINUTES featured Bill Whitaker’s story on distribution of the coronavirus vaccines, David Martin’s report with video and first-hand accounts of the largest ballistic missile attack ever against U.S. troops, and John Dickerson’s profile of Pulitzer-prize winning novelist Colson Whitehead.
Bill Owens is the executive producer of 60 MINUTES, America’s most watched news program.
