“60 MINUTES” MAKES THE TOP 10 FOR THE 16TH STRAIGHT TIME
The CBS Newsmagazine is Nielsen’s #1 Non-Sports Broadcast
Drawing 10.6 Million Viewers
60 MINUTES attracted enough viewers to make the top 10 for the 16th consecutive time despite heavy competition from an NFL divisional playoff game Sunday night. The CBS newsmagazine drew 10.6 million viewers to finish the week at #4, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sunday, Jan. 17. 60 MINUTES was the #1 non-sports prime broadcast in viewers for the week.
60 MINUTES also made the top 10 in demos, scoring a 1.8/07 in adults 25-54 to finish at #5 and a 1.2/06 to tie at #5 in adults 18-49.
It was the 11th time this season 60 MINUTES ranked at #5 or higher in viewers.
Sunday’s 60 MINUTES featured Scott Pelley’s report on security measures being taken for the presidential inauguration of Joseph Biden, Bill Whitaker’s investigation into what happened on Jan. 6 when an angry mob stormed the United States Capitol, and Norah O’Donnell’s report on the remarkable comeback of Washington Football Team Quarterback Alex Smith, who suffered an on-field injury that nearly cost him his leg.
