48 HOURS: “The Killing of Theresa Fusco”
AIR DATE: Saturday, April 25 at 10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+.
CORRESPONDENT: Erin Moriarty
LOCATION: Lynbrook, Long Island, N.Y.
STORY DETAILS: In 1984, three teenage girls went missing from the same Long Island area within months of each other. Fifteen-year-old Kelly Morrissey walked out of her home on June 12 and was never heard from again. Five months later, her friend Theresa Fusco, 16, vanished after leaving her job at a local roller rink. And then four more months after that, 19-year-old Jackie Martarella never showed up for a shift at a Burger King. Nearly 41 years later, a breakthrough involving DNA from a smoothie straw has finally brought new answers in one of the cases. 48 HOURS correspondent Erin Moriarty reports in “The Killing of Theresa Fusco.”
