“CBS SUNDAY MORNING” MARKS ITS 584th CONSECUTIVE WEEK AS AMERICA’S #1 SUNDAY MORNING NEWS WITH VIEWERS

CBS SUNDAY MORNING marked its 584th consecutive week as America’s #1 Sunday morning news program with viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sept. 26.
Anchored by Jane Pauley, the broadcast delivered nearly 5 million viewers with 793,000 of them in the key adults 25-54 demographic.
Sunday’s broadcast featured Susan Spencer’s report on the challenges facing estranged families, and the potentially everlasting toll taken by disagreements among parents and siblings. Serena Altschul toured an art exhibit featuring cars at New York’s Museum of Modern Art. And Mola Lenghi talked with pioneering former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi about her rise from humble beginnings to lead a Fortune 500 company.
Additionally, Maurice DuBois of WCBS-TV went behind the scenes at the Broadway production of “Tina: The Tina Turner Musical,” based on the life of the legendary Tina Turner. Seth Doane reported on a modern-day jousting competition in Italy. David Pogue previewed the new Broadway show “Diana: The Musical,” based on the life of Princess Diana Spencer. Lee Cowan caught up with Drew Carey to talk about the 50th anniversary of CBS’ popular game show THE PRICE IS RIGHT. Singer-songwriter David Byrne, currently performing in “American Utopia,” offered thoughts about the reopening of theaters on Broadway. And Steve Hartman reported on a woman in Louisiana who rallied a team of friends to help feed electric linemen now in the state, helping to repair devastation from Hurricane Ida.
