"NICHOLAS' GIFT," A FACT-BASED TELEVISION MOVIE, STARRING JAMIE LEE CURTIS AND ALAN BATES AS A COUPLE, WHOSE EXTRAORDINARY SELFLESSNESS FOLLOWING THEIR YOUNG SON'S DEATH INSPIRED PEOPLE WORLDWIDE,
TO BE REBROADCAST SUNDAY, MAY 26 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

NICHOLAS' GIFT, a television movie starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Alan Bates, will be rebroadcast as the "CBS Sunday Movie," Sunday, May 26 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The film dramatizes the life-affirming true story of the Greens, a California couple who transformed the tragic loss of their young son into something that inspired the world and forever changed its attitude toward organ donation. (Originally broadcast 4/26/98)

In the fall of 1994, Maggie and Reginald Green (Curtis and Bates) were vacationing in Italy with their two children, 7-year-old Nicholas (Gene Wexler) and 4-year-old Eleanor (Hallie Kate Eisenberg), when Nicholas was shot in the head by highway bandits. When the child was declared brain-dead at the hospital, his parents overlooked their own personal suffering and donated his organs -- a gift that enhanced and saved many lives.

The Greens' selflessness also galvanized Italy -- which had one of the lowest organ donation rates in Europe-- and organ donations have since doubled in Italy. The world was astonished by the Greens' generosity and lack of bitterness, and they became shining examples of how to react in the face of pain and sorrow.

Jamie Lee Curtis began her Hollywood career in 1977 as a regular on the television series "Operation Petticoat." Her additional television credits include the series "Anything But Love," for which she won a Golden Globe Award, and the film "The Heidi Chronicles." Curtis' feature film credits include "Halloween," "Trading Places," "Dominick and Eugene," "A Fish Called Wanda," "Blue Steel," My Girl," "True Lies" and the soon- to- be released "Virus."

Alan Bates is a renowned British theater and television actor. His feature film credits include "An Unmarried Woman," "Zorba The Greek," "The Entertainer," "Georgie Girl" and "The Rose."

NICHOLAS' GIFT is from Five Mile River Films in association with Lux Vide and Media set. Judd Parkin ("Forbidden Territory: Stanley's Search for Livingston") and Lorenzo Minoli ("Joseph," "David" ) are the executive producers; Robert Markowitz directed the film from a script by Christine Berardo.
