In a preview of tonight’s two-part 60 MINUTES report where correspondent Scott Pelley met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at his office in Kyiv, Pelley asked the wartime leader what he’s expecting now in the east and in the south. Zelenskyy said, “We think this will be a new wave of this war. We don’t know how much Russian weaponry there will be, but we understand there will be many times more than there is now.” He continued, “It all depends on how fast we will be helped by the United States. To be honest, whether we will be able to survive depends on this: I have 100% confidence in our people and in our armed forces, but unfortunately I don’t have the confidence that we will be receiving everything we need.”

The full report airs tonight Sunday, April 10 on 60 MINUTES (7:00-8:00 PM, ET, after the Masters) on the CBS Television Network.

An excerpt of the 60 MINUTES interview aired this morning on “FACE THE NATION with MARGARET BRENNAN” (10:30 AM, ET). A transcript of the excerpt is below. Click here to watch.

Pelley has reported on the war in Ukraine since it broke out. He spoke with refugees and those trying to help them from a train station near Poland’s border with Ukraine, and embedded with medical workers in Lviv as they delivered much needed supplies into the country as hospitals, health care facilities and ambulances have been under attack.
