CBS NEWS RATINGS HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE WEEK OF JAN. 24

  • CBS SUNDAY MORNING, anchored by Jane Pauley, marked its 601st consecutive week as America’s #1 Sunday morning news program, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Jan. 30 (regular titles only). The broadcast delivered 5.5 million viewers with 964,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic. CBS SUNDAY MORNING holds 50% of the three-network morning audience. (Watch CBS SUNDAY MORNING)

  • FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show on Jan. 30, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION delivered 3.3 million viewers and 557,000 in adults 25-54 for the week, and was #1 in women 25-54 (305,000), leading NBC by +17,000. Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show in viewers for the second consecutive year (leading ABC by +357,000 viewers and NBC by +406,000 viewers and is leading NBC for the first time in seven years in the adults and women 25-54 demographic.   • CBS MORNINGS delivered its best number in viewers in six weeks and was the only program to see any week-to-week growth (+2%) while the competition was down across the board. CBS MORNINGS posted 2.6 million viewers, 560,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demo, and 331,000 among women 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Jan. 28. The new morning program hosted by Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson launched on Sept. 7, 2021. In the 21 weeks since launch, CBS MORNINGS is up +3% in adults and +5% in women compared to the previous 21-week period, which is better than the competition, NBC (+1% in adults and flat among women) and ABC (-1% among adults and down -5% in women). Compared to last season, CBS MORNINGS has cut into “Today’s” lead in the A25-54 demo by 10% and “Good Morning America’s” lead by 12%.  CBS MORNINGS is delivering the tightest gaps in adults and women 25-54 for a season ever (since at least 1991) vs. NBC and ABC.   • The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL delivered 5.6 million viewers and 965,000 adults 25-54 the week ending Jan 28. This season, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL is delivering the tightest demo gap with NBC in 27 years (since 1994-1995) and with ABC since 2018-2019. Compared to last year, the CBS EVENING NEWS is closing the demo gap with NBC by 22% and with ABC by 17%. In viewers, CBS has closed the gap by 3% against NBC and 13% with ABC.   • 48 HOURS was Saturday’s #1 primetime program with viewers. The broadcast (which aired from 10:39 PM to 11:39 PM) delivered 3.37 million viewers with 602,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demographic, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Saturday, Jan. 29. 48 HOURS added +370,000 viewers (from 3.00m, +12%) from the previous week. Compared to the same night last year, CBS was up +5% in viewers. (Watch 48 HOURS)

  • Editor’s note: 60 MINUTES PRESENTS aired at 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM, ET on Jan. 30. CBS SATURDAY MORNING was preempted in the east for storm coverage.
