CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN” IS THE #1 SUNDAY SHOW ON DEC. 12

SEASON-TO-DATE, “FACE THE NATION” REMAINS THE MOST-WATCHED SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS PROGRAM

CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show on Dec. 12, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION delivered 3.1 million viewers and 607,000 in adults 25-54 (tied with ABC).

Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show in viewers for the second consecutive year (leading NBC +342,000 viewers season-to-date) and is leading NBC for the first time in seven years in the women 25-54 demographic.

Sunday’s broadcast featured moderator Margaret Brennan’s interviews with Gov. Andy Beshear (D-KY), former FDA Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb, Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-AR), Gov. Chris Sununu (R-NH), director of the Centre for Epidemic Response and Innovation in South Africa Tulio de Oliveira, and Allianz Chief Economic Adviser Mohamed El-Erian.

CBS News’ David Begnaud reported from Mayfield, Ky., where the tornado that hit could be one of the most intense and longest ever recorded. Meteorologist and climate specialist Jeff Berardelli discussed the historic and rare nature of the deadly tornadoes that ravaged six states. Mark Strassmann reported on the ongoing impacts of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States. Elizabeth Palmer reported that while 35 million COVID-19 vaccine doses are administered worldwide every day, it’s a long way from enough to end the pandemic.
