Debate to Air Live from 7:00-8:00 PM on CBS 2, WLNY 10/55, CBSN New York, WCBS Newsradio 880 and 1010 WINS

NEW YORK – June 10, 2021 – CBS 2 New York will host a one-hour debate between leading contenders in the New York City Democratic Mayoral Primary tonight (7:00-8:00 PM). The debate will air live on CBS 2, sister station WLNY 10/55 (Spanish language translation), CBSN New York, CBSNewYork.com, and radio co-sponsors WCBS Newsradio 880 and 1010 WINS. Common Cause New York is also a debate partner and has participated in forming the debate rules and criteria for selecting participants.

The debate organizers have extended invitations to five leading contenders (listed alphabetically): Eric Adams, Kathryn Garcia, Scott Stringer, Maya Wiley and Andrew Yang. All five have confirmed their participation, including Adams, who accepted his invitation this morning.

The debate, which will originate from the CBS Broadcast Center in Manhattan, will be moderated by CBS 2 anchor Maurice DuBois and CBS 2 political reporter Marcia Kramer. Lynda Lopez from WCBS Newsradio 880 and Juliet Papa from 1010 WINS will pose questions to the candidates, originating from their respective radio studios.

This will be the last televised debate prior to the start of early voting on June 12. Primary election day is Tuesday, June 22.

Before the general election on Nov. 2, CBS 2 New York and its partners plan to hold a debate between the leading candidates for New York City mayor on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 7:00 PM.

Since 2010, CBS 2, WLNY 10/55 and their co-sponsors WCBS Newsradio 880, 1010 WINS and Common Cause New York have been the leading organizers and broadcasters of debates between candidates for New York City mayor, New York governor and New Jersey governor.

NOTE: Due to existing Covid-19 protocols at the CBS Broadcast Center, CBS 2 will be unable to provide building access to other media organizations during the June 10 debate.

VIDEO/AUDIO USAGE REQUIREMENTS:
The use of video and audio of the debate is strictly prohibited during the live 7:00-8:00 PM ET broadcast unless prior written authorization is provided by WCBS-TV. 

News organizations may use up to three minutes of video footage or audio from the debate for a period of 72 hours following the conclusion of the live broadcast.  All usage must include an on-screen credit that reads: “Courtesy: WCBS-TV”
