“CBS SUNDAY MORNING” MARKS ITS 644th CONSECUTIVE WEEK AS THE #1 SUNDAY MORNING NEWS PROGRAM
CBS SUNDAY MORNING was the nation’s #1 Sunday morning news program for the 644th consecutive week, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for May 9, 2021. Jane Pauley anchored the broadcast, which delivered 5.1 million viewers—934,000 of whom were in the adults 25-54 demographic.
Sunday’s broadcast featured David Pogue’s talk with the people behind the emoji that populate our everyday digital communications. Jim Axelrod caught up with former “Brat Pack” actor Andrew McCarthy to talk about his new book, “Brat: An 80s Story,” acting and his life today. Lee Cowan reported on the deadly and ongoing problem of fraternity hazing, and what the parents who have lost sons to hazing are doing to stop it. And Tracy Smith profiled Oscar-winning actor Allison Janney, star of the CBS series MOM.
Also, Erin Moriarty of 48 HOURS talked voting rights and more with Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams. Faith Salie reported on the enduring appeal of tap dancing. Film maker Josh Seftel talked with his mom about life post-pandemic. And Steve Hartman reported on Sian-Pieree Regis, who helped his mother Rebecca Danigelis tick off stuff on her bucket list and then made a documentary about it.
