CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION” IS THE #1 SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS PROGRAM IN VIEWERS ON MAY 20

CBS News’ FACE THE NATION was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program in viewers on May 20, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings.

FACE THE NATION was first in viewers, delivering 3.23 million, and posted a 0.6/04 in adults 25-54. (Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 82.3% of the CBS affiliates.)

Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION ended the 2017-2018 broadcast season averaging 3.45 million viewers and 0.6/03 in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen most current ratings.

The May 20 broadcast opened with CBS News correspondent Omar Villafranca reporting from Santa Fe, Texas, with the latest on the high school shooting. Margaret Brennan then interviewed Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo; Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA); and Larry Kudlow, director of the National Economic Council. FACE THE NATION’s political panel included CBS News political analyst Jamelle Bouie of Slate; Anne Gearan of The Washington Post; Reihan Salam of The National Review; and Amy Walter of the Cook Political Report. Margaret Brennan ended the broadcast with an interview with Jon Meacham, historian and author of The Soul of America: The Battle for Our Better Angels.
