CBS NEWS TOPS THE EMMYS, WINS 10, WITH SEVEN FOR “60 MINUTES” - THE MOST FOR ANY SINGLE PROGRAM
CBS News, with 60 MINUTES leading the way, took home more Emmys than any other entity at the 2011 News and Documentary Emmys held in New York City last night. CBS News programs garnered 10 statuettes – seven of them for 60 MINUTES reports, the most for any single program – and two for the “CBS EVENING NEWS,” the most for a Network evening news broadcast.
It was the best showing at the Emmys for a Network News Division in more than a decade.
“It was a great night for CBS News and a proud night for 60MINUTES with so many awards. It is nice to see hard work and good reporting get recognized,” said Jeff Fager, chairman of CBS News and executive producer, 60 MINUTES.
