Former "Big Brother" and "The Amazing Race" Contestant Jeff Schroeder Begins Journey Traveling the Globe for 100 Days without Money
NEW YORK - July 23, 2010 - The second season of popular web series AROUND THE WORLD FOR FREE - a live, online, interactive reality series housed at cbs.com/world - will begin in New York City on July 26 with an exclusive interview on CBS News' THE EARLY SHOW (7:00-9:00 AM, ET/PT).
Sponsored by AT&T in association with American Airlines, AROUND THE WORLD FOR FREE will follow former BIG BROTHER and THE AMAZING RACE contestant Jeff Schroeder as he travels the globe for 100 days without money. CBS Interactive Web Original Studios will produce a total of 50 webisodes to be posted on CBS.com/world every other day during the 100-day adventure.
"We are excited that Jeff will begin his journey on our show," said David Friedman, Executive Producer, THE EARLY SHOW.
To engage viewers in the adventure, CBS.com will also launch a fully interactive micro-site enabling viewers to contact Jeff in real-time to offer local restaurant suggestions, tips for attractions to visit, a place to stay, etc. Throughout his trip, Jeff will use an AT&T smartphone and netbook exclusively to communicate with fans by posting videos, photos, Twitter updates and more on the micro-site. AT&T currently offers wireless voice coverage in more than 220 countries, and wireless data coverage in more than 195 countries. Of those, AT&T data plan subscribers can access 3G mobile broadband services in more than 120 countries.

THE EARLY SHOW is broadcast weekdays (7:00-9:00 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Harry Smith, Julie Chen and Maggie Rodriguez are the anchors of the broadcast, and David Friedman serves as executive producer.
