ALEX RIETHMILLER NAMED DIRECTOR, COMMUNICATIONS, CBS SPORTSLINE
Alex Riethmiller has been named Director, Communications, CBS SportsLine, it was announced by Stephen Snyder, Vice President and General Manager, CBS SportsLine.
In his new post, Riethmiller will continue to oversee the total media relations effort for the division and will work closely with CBS Sports and CBS Digital Media within the CBS Communications Group. He will report to Snyder.
"Alex has been a solid, productive and creative member of the CBS SportsLine team and has made numerous contributions during the early growth of our division," said Snyder. "We are pleased to announce his well deserved promotion and look forward to relying on Alex as he continues to lead our press effort in the future."
Riethmiller began at SportsLine.com in 1999 as Communications Coordinator. He was promoted to Manager, Communications, in 2001.
He has led the department since 2004 when CBS SportsLine, a leading Internet sports media organization became part of CBS Digital Media.
Riethmiller began his career as a member of the communications department with the National Football League's Jacksonville Jaguars during the team's inaugural season in 1995. He subsequently spent a time in the public relations office of the Atlanta Hawks (1996-97) and the Baltimore Raven's (1998).
Riethmiller is a 1994 graduate of the University of Virginia (B.A., English). He and his wife, Yvonne, live in Boca Raton, Fla. with their son, Christian.
