CBS News will deliver multiplatform coverage of its debate featuring vice-presidential candidates Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) on Tuesday, Oct. 1. In addition to the live, 90-minute vice-presidential debate moderated by Norah O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan at 9:00 PM, ET, CBS News will deliver six-plus hours of coverage on television and streaming beginning at 4:00 PM, ET on CBS News 24/7 and at 8:00 PM, ET on the CBS Television Network.

CBS News chief political analyst and anchor of THE DAILY REPORT John Dickerson and 60 MINUTES correspondent Cecilia Vega will anchor the Network’s primetime coverage beginning at 8:00 PM, ET, in addition to post-debate coverage and analysis, from CBS News’ election headquarters in Times Square. Anthony Salvanto, executive director of elections and surveys, will provide CBS News polling and the team of political journalists from across CBS News and Stations will contribute to the coverage.

CBS News Confirmed, the Network’s multiplatform unit focused on misinformation, will provide live fact-checking and analysis in the CBSNews.com debate live blog and on social media during the debate. CBS viewers will also be directed to the live blog during the debate via an on-screen QR code. CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett will lead CBS News Confirmed fact checking for post-debate coverage.

CBS News’ leading team of political journalists will join across programming before and after the debate, including chief election and campaign correspondent Robert Costa, chief White House correspondent Nancy Cordes, senior White House and political correspondent Ed O’Keefe, political correspondent Caitlin Huey-Burns and CBS News contributor Ed Gordon.

The vice-presidential debate and CBS News’ debate programming will stream everywhere CBS News 24/7 is distributed, including the CBS News app, Paramount+ and Pluto TV. The Network’s coverage will also extend across CBS News Radio and CBS Newspath.

They will be joined by newsmakers, special guests and other CBS News correspondents.

CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O’DONNELL

On Monday, Sept. 30, and Tuesday, Oct. 1, O’Donnell with anchor special editions of the CBS EVENING NEWS from the debate studio in the CBS Broadcast Center.

7:00 PM

AMERICA DECIDES

O’Keefe and Huey-Burns continue special debate coverage with an additional hour of AMERICA DECIDES on CBS News 24/7. They will be joined by newsmakers, special guests and other CBS News journalists.

8:00 PM

CBS NEWS: AMERICA DECIDES: CAMPAIGN ‘24

John Dickerson and Cecilia Vega anchor coverage leading up to the debate from CBS News’ election headquarters in Times Square.

Anthony Salvanto will provide information and analysis of CBS News polling throughout the coverage, and the team of political journalists from across CBS News and Stations will deliver the latest reporting.
