NOTES & QUOTES FROM CBS SPORTS' COVERAGE ON SEPT. 4
Mary Carillo on Taylor Dent: Win or lose, this is the best long match I've ever seen Taylor Dent play. He's hanging in physically and mentally. He's gotten over some emotional fitness issues too, playing against a guy who will fight for every point for five long sets in Lleyton Hewitt.
Patrick McEnroe on Venus vs. Serena: Venus is playing better. I still like Serena. I think she's got more to prove right now, having had such a dismal year. But I like Serena. Venus looks a little bit sharper. I think the younger sis moves on today.
John McEnroe on the difficulty of playing against a sibling: I played my brother (CBS Sports' Patrick) three times and won all three and didn't enjoy a minute of it. He probably enjoyed it even less. (More)

?CBS Sports' Dick Enberg, Mary Carillo and John McEnroe having fun commenting on Dominick Hrbaty's new look:
Enberg: A new look that Dominick Hrbaty has brought to tennis. It's worth seeing a scapulated shirt.
McEnroe: He told me I was going to make fun of him if we showed it, and I think he's right. It's worth a look at some point.
Carillo: If that catches on, I'm quitting this game.
McEnroe: I predict that will not be around too long
Enberg: I wouldn't know where to put my head. I'd have my head in the back hole.
Carillo: You know its bad news that a ball boy had to rub sun block on his two exposed back circles before the match. That just should not happen.
Enberg: Oh My!
Carillo: You've got to be a lot of a man to wear that outfit.
? CBS Sports' Mary Carillo sits down with tennis legend Martina Navratilova as part of a feature scheduled to air on CBS Sports' coverage of the U.S. Open Tennis Championships on Labor Day Monday, Sept. 5 (11:00 AM-6:00 PM, ET and 12:37-1:07 AM, ET). Navratilova looked back on the 30th anniversary of her defection from Czechoslovakia to the United States on September 5, 1975.
