CBS NEWS EARNS THREE 2021 SIGMA DELTA CHI AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE IN JOURNALISM

June 24, 2022 – CBS News has been honored with three 2021 Sigma Delta Chi Awards for excellence in journalism, presented by the Society of Professional Journalists. 60 MINUTES, CBS MORNINGS and CBS News Radio were each honored.

The awards are chosen from entries in print, radio, television and online, and recognize outstanding work in 2021. Click HERE for the full list of winners.

CBS News honorees are:

CBS News Radio won in the Deadline Reporting, Radio Breaking News Reporting category for “Assault on the U.S. Capitol,” the division’s coverage of the Jan. 6 insurrection. Credits: CBS News Radio staff.

60 MINUTES won in the Television Investigative Reporting category for “SolarWinds,” an investigation into how Russian hackers infiltrated the computer networks of thousands of companies and the federal government, including the Justice, State, Treasury, Energy and Commerce departments. CBS MORNINGS won in the Public Service in Television Journalism category for “Broken Medical Boards,” a year-long investigation that found the system of state medical boards responsible for disciplining doctors who repeatedly injure patients often fails to discipline those doctors.
