Drew: By the way, I usually ask this of couples, but like, how did you two find each other?

Woody: Well, we are like a couple. Yeah, go ahead.

Matthew: I remember us meeting. I remember the day on Ed TV, but he reminds me all the time we actually met a year before. But to let him tell the story, you'll hear it right in the middle when you hear what he said, do you wanna have a shot of is probably why I don't remember meeting him that day. Go ahead.

Woody: Well, no, we were at CAA and, you know, I saw him there and I came up and said, ‘Hey, man, how you doing?’ We met. He don't remember.

Matthew: I think I remember this part maybe.

Woody: I think I said ‘Would you like to get a shot of tequila’ and he says, ‘You know, it's one o'clock in the afternoon.’ He says, ‘I have a lot to do today.’ I said, ‘Well, is that gonna stop you, one shot?’ So we went and had a shot.

Matthew: And I don't remember.

Woody: He don't remember.

Matthew: But I was there.

Drew: And then you guys did Ed TV together and then you were surrounded in each other all the time and like the bond grew.

Drew: What would you call this genre because I feel like you have invented something here.

Matthew: Oh wow.

Woody: Oh that’s cool.

Drew: I’m watching it episode after episode.

Matthew: How many inventions does this guy have that he doesn’t even know he’s responsible for.

Woody: I was just gonna make it a generic comedy, but you’re right let’s go for a new kind of genre

 

Woody on the Bus Used in the Show Being a Replica of His Own Bus

Drew: I'm like, I bet Woody Harrelson does drive a bus that looks like that.

Woody: He does.

Drew: Really.

Woody: It's a copy of my bus.

Matthew: Oh, that's right.

Woody: It's in a replica.

Matthew: And how do I not remember this because what held up shooting most of the days besides Woody showing up with some scar or scab that he had gotten over the weekend, hitting the one rock in an open field that I don't know how you hit it. What did hold up shooting is he'd be, get the camera get on the side of him, but when the bus was in the background, not even in the shot, in the background, Woody would go, ‘Hey, hey, hey, cut here a minute. Hey, where's the set dec? That dolphin, the bill, that little where it changes the color blue, it shouldn't be that dark blue. It should be one shade, in the wood.’ The bus is not even in the shot for another two weeks. He was on them.

Woody: I love Matthew, the way he can spin a yarn, you know, he’s been harping on this bus thing. It happened like one time. I'm like, should we have the bus be turned this way, you know, I forget what I said. And then boy, now it's never stopped. I never hear the end.

Matthew: But he loved to bring it up in today's scene when the bus scene when you would actually even see so said bus that he was so particular about, wasn't gonna be in the picture for another two weeks.

 

Woody & Matthew on Inspiration for Their New Show “Brothers" Coming From the Possibility of Them Being Real Life Brothers

Matthew: That’s where this whole thing started. My mom nine years ago, who you know came back after a few Kendall-Jacksons, I keep bringing up that she was drinking Kendall-Jackson, Kendall-Jackson you need to supply her with a lifetime supply of Kendall-Jackson, she is ninety-four. It’s just a bottle a day you can handle it for the rest of her time. Nine years ago when we were all hanging out my family and his family, who we’ve all been friends for decades, my mom out of nowhere goes, ‘Oh Woody I knew your father,’ and then the pause the perfect timing of the lips is, even my six-year-old son knew that it was like oooh. Everybody could tell.

Woody: Everybody knew that something went on.

Matthew: And so then everybody started scrambling. Wait a minute, how’s this gonna happen, well let’s check out the timeline oh when I would’ve been conceived if my mom would’ve gone and known his dad Charles. Oh happened to line up with my mom and dad’s second divorce because they were married three times and divorced twice. Maybe there was a trip to West Texas. Anyway so there it began. I don’t think it’s true. He’s quite convinced.

Woody: Oh it’s true.

 

Matthew & Woody on What Their Listening To Music Wise

Drew: What are you listening to right now music wise?

Matthew: Nomb.

Drew: Nomb?

Matthew: Yeah, N O M B…have it put, put it on going through the day. It's not sit down dedicated, listen to every word. You just wanna float through your house doing what you're doing. Put on Nomb radio in the background.

Drew: What are you doing when you're floating through your house?

Matthew: Oh well, you know how it is when you got 3 kids and you've got a home. You don't leave a room without crossing something that you go, ‘Oh, that needs to be done. I didn't know that needed to be done.’ That's why sometimes going to a hotel is so damn relaxing because you're just renting. But when you got 3 kids, you just, there's always something to do. So I just float through and piddle.  Oh, I got piddle with that. Yeah, I piddle with that.

Woody: By the way, Nomb you might wanna be giving a generous subscription to Matthew.

Drew: What about you, Woody? What are you listening to lately?

Woody: My wife.

 

Matthew on Woody Doing a Handstand on the Edge of the Grand Canyon and Scaring the Photographer

Matthew: Can I tell a little story about him talking about handstands earlier? Handstand on the edge of the Grand Canyon. 18 inches from the edge of the Grand Canyon, doing a full-on handstand. His heart rate was lower than mine. There was a photographer present. We're like, ‘Get the shot, get the shot, get the shot.’ Photographer saw him and just freaked out, ‘Stop stop stop.’ And he just dropped down. Never really got the shot. He was fine. Didn't even understand what's everyone getting all excited about.
