Michael Strahan on the Personal Things He Brought to Space & the Special Something he Brought Back for Drew

Drew: What was going through your head, or your body, what did it feel like?

Michael: I’ll tell you this, I wasn’t worried about it when I said yes, until the week before and then I said, ‘What did I sign up for?’ But the thing is we had been promoting this so I’m like, ‘Is it too late to back out?’

Drew: Did you bring anything special with you?

Michael: I took my Super Bowl ring, I took my NLF Hall of Fame ring, I took my grandmother’s, my mom gave me a stopwatch from her father, my grandfather. So, I took everything that was very personal, that meant something, because the most fascinating, incredible thing that I’ve ever done, and they gave us a little pouch that we stuffed under our seats, and I brought something for you that went to space with me. It’s very simple don’t get too excited, but it is a keychain that actually was on the ship with us…that is the first one I’ve ever given anyone. I haven’t given anybody any of those. I appreciate you.

Drew:…Ross, are you the type of guy whose totally comfortable letting it all hang out, or are you more of a never nude?

Ross: No, no. Even in the shower I’m like, ‘Oh god.’ I’ve never been comfortable. I bet you are, hello we saw you on ‘David Letterman’ you were fine with letting it.

Drew: You know, it’s funny I’m so glad that I had an un-uptight exhibitionist, hedonistic, free, hippie wildflower-like era because I am a cloistered nun now, like the exact opposite…I’m so glad that I was freer at some point, so not now. I’m so uptight.
