Biography

 

David Theodosopoulos is the executive producer of HOT BENCH, CBS Media Ventures’ Emmy-nominated syndicated court program created by Judge Judy Sheindlin. Now in its 12th season, HOT BENCH is the #1syndicated court show in original production, averaging nearly 2 million viewers. It ranks in the top 10 first-run shows in all of syndication, and is the only court show to see year-over-year ratings and viewer growth.

Before joining HOT BENCH, Theodosopoulos was senior vice president, business affairs and legal for CBS Television Distribution (now named CBS Media Ventures), where he oversaw business affairs relating to the division’s first-run productions such as “Judge Judy,” “Entertainment Tonight,” and HOT BENCH, as well as projects in development. His responsibilities also included all business affairs and legal work related to licensing CTD’s first-run programming and CBS’ off-network programming in cable and subscription video on demand (SVOD). He joined Paramount Pictures in 1992 as director of legal for the domestic and international television divisions. In 1995, he was promoted to VP of legal for CMV’s predecessor Paramount Domestic Television and in 1998 was promoted to VP, business affairs and legal. Prior to joining Paramount, Theodosopoulos was an associate at entertainment law firm, Cooper, Epstein & Hurewitz.

Theodosopoulos received his Juris Doctor from USC in 1988 where he was the Student Bar Association president and his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from USC in 1985.

HOT BENCH is an Emmy-nominated syndicated court show, created by Judge Judy Sheindlin and executive produced by David Theodosopoulos. Belinda Jackson and James Glover are co-executive producers. Yodit Tewolde, Rachel Juarez and Daniel Mentzer comprise the three-judge panel. HOT BENCH is produced by Big Ticket Pictures and Queen Bee Productions. It is distributed by CBS Media Ventures.
