Rachel Smith joined the top-rated, seven-time Emmy Award-winning entertainment newsmagazine, ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, as a New York based correspondent in 2019 for the show’s 39th season.

 

Smith previously served as a guest correspondent for ET where she’s interviewed the likes of Rihanna, Ryan Seacrest, Kelly Ripa, Kim Kardashian, Dua Lipa, Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. Smith is perhaps best known for hosting the ABC syndicated weekly series “On The Red Carpet” and as a correspondent for both ABC’s “Good Morning America” and “Nightline.” She was also crowned Miss USA 2007 and went on to represent the United States at Miss Universe 2007 where she placed 4th runner-up.

 

Born in Panama where her parents were stationed on a U.S. Army base, Smith eventually moved stateside and grew up in Tennessee. She graduated magna cum laude from Belmont University in Nashville with a Bachelor of Science in journalism. During her time at Belmont, Smith interned for Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions and later volunteered for a month at her South African-based Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls.
