January 4, 2011 (Los Angeles, CA) - ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT sat down with Candace Cameron  Bure  for a new interview to air tonight, January 4^th.

Candace played the chipper D.J. Tanner on the '90s sitcom "Full House," but when the show's cameras stopped rolling the actress slipped into a downward spiral that she has only recently found the courage to uncover. "Full House" aired its last season in 1995. The following year, Candace, 34, married NHL right wing Valeri Bure, 36, shuttling her into an uncomfortable phase in her adulthood. She found herself using food as a "comforter" soon after the wedding.

"It was a brand-new type of life for me, and as my husband would be on the road playing hockey there was lots of nights that I would just sit in front of my television alone," said Candace, who was 20-years old when the couple wed. "I just started to overeat."

Candace kept her food abuse a secret that became shameful to her, but she clarified that the producers of "Full House" never asked her to lose weight. "I had a very healthy body image for the most part while working on 'Full House,'" said Candace.

Now the mother of three is in the "best shape of [her] life" and she wants to help others that are stuck in a situation similar to the one that afflicted her by giving health tips to young women in her new book Reshaping It All: Motivation for Physical and Spiritual Fitness.

In the book, Candace, a devout Christian, credited the Bible and her faith in God as key factors in helping her conquer her overeating struggle. She sourced various motivational scriptures meant to keep the readers mind focused on his or her goal of a healthier lifestyle. "It's been a long journey for me but it's really been a fun one - a great one," Candace gushed.
