MATT LOPEZ is a writer and producer of film and television. He is currently the showrunner and executive producer of the breakout hit series SHERIFF COUNTRY, for CBS and Jerry Bruckheimer Television. Matt also created the critically acclaimed drama “Promised Land,” which was released on ABC and Hulu in 2022, the same year that his reimagining of the classic film “Father of the Bride” became the most-watched original feature on the HBO Max streaming service. Upcoming projects include a one-hour medical drama set in the FIRE COUNTRY/SHERIFF COUNTRY universe, as well as the feature film “World War Q” for Disney and Twentieth Century Studios. Additional credits include the features “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” produced by Jerry Bruckheimer; the sci-fi action/adventure “Race to Witch Mountain,” starring Dwayne Johnson; and the Walt Disney comedy “Bedtime Stories,” starring Adam Sandler. Matt came to writing after a successful career as an attorney and business affairs executive for DreamWorks, where he worked on such films as “Gladiator,” “Saving Private Ryan” and “American Beauty.”
