CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION” IS THE #1 SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS SHOW ON AUGUST 2

CBS News’ FACE THE NATION was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show, scoring the top spot in viewers and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sunday, August 2. FACE THE NATION scored 3.42 million viewers, and in adults 25-54, the demographic most important to those who advertise in news, FACE THE NATION delivered 648,000 viewers.

In the key adults 25-54 category, FACE THE NATION had its best delivery in seven weeks; in viewers, it had its best delivery in 11 weeks. Television season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up the most (+9%) in total viewers among the Sunday shows and up +3% in adults 25-54 over the same period a year ago.

The August 2 broadcast featured FACE THE NATION guest moderator John Dickerson’s interviews with White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows; Majority Whip Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.); the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, Neel Kashkari; the president and CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, Vanita Gupta; and former FDA commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb.
