Alison Bell is the co-creator and star of the Netflix original series “The Letdown.” Her work on the show earned her an AACTA nomination for Best Performance in a Comedy and an award for Best Screenplay. Bell also received a Best Performance in a Comedy nomination as the lead actress in the AACTA award winning comedy “Laid.” Other television credits include “Do Gooders,” “House Husbands,” “The Doctor Blake Mysteries,” “Mr. & Mrs. Murder,” “Mrs. Biggs,” “I Rock,” “Offspring,” “City Homicide,” “Rush,” “Last Man Standing” and “Packed to the Rafters.”

A stalwart of the theater scene in Australia for the past decade, Bell received the prestigious Helpmann Award (Australia’s Tony Award) for her performance as Hedda Gabler inHedda Gabler.” Her other credits include “Betrayal,” “Constellations,” “Tribes,” “The Ugly One,” “Blackbird,” “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?,” “Doubt” and “King Lear” for MTC; “Betrayal” and “The Book of Everything,” which also had a New York run off-Broadway in 2012.
