SOCIAL CATEGORIES REVEALED FOR 2025 MTV VMAs AIRING ON CBS

New Nods for Top Nominees Alex Warren, Sabrina Carpenter and Tate McRae

First-Time Nominees Include Addison Rae, Fuerza Regida, and HUNTR/X: EJAE, Audrey Nuna & REI AMI

MTV Kicks Off a Week of 24/7 Music Videos Across MTV2, MTV Live, MTV Classic and Pluto TV

  • The 2025 MTV VMAs today announced nominations for two social categories: Best Group and Song of the Summer. All voting will be hosted on @MTV Instagram Story until Sunday, Sept. 7 at 11:00 AM, ET. The 2025 MTV VMAs are LIVE coast-to-coast from New York’s UBS Arena on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 8:00 PM, ET/5:00 PM, PT airing on the CBS Television Network, simulcast on MTV and streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S.*

    • BEST GROUP - Fan voting for favorite group across all genres will begin Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 11:00 AM, ET on @MTV Instagram Story (three rounds, bracket-style face-off, final round tap to vote); closes Saturday, Sept. 6 at 11:00 AM, ET. The nominees are:

  • Starting Sept. 1, MTV kicks off a week of 24/7 current and classic music videos across MTV2, MTV Live, MTV Classic and Pluto TV (“MTV Biggest Pop”) to celebrate its legacy as the network that introduced the world to music videos. The lineup will feature 700+ videos, many airing for the first time in over a decade, curated into 12 themed categories and interstitials that celebrate music video fandom from iconic MTV personalities and the biggest names in music including Alex Warren, Benson Boone, Carmen Electra, Chappell Roan, Connor Wood, Dasha, Davis Durleson, Doja Cat, Johnny Knoxville, Jon Bon Jovi, MYA, Olivia Rodrigo, Paris Hilton, Pauly D, Steve-O, Teddy Swims, Wyclef Jean and many more.
