NEW YORK, January 15, 2019 – This Is Not Happening, the Roy Wood Jr.-helmed storytelling series featuring hilarious true stories from comedians’ real lives, is back with all-new episodes beginning Friday, February 1 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central.

Each episode of This Is Not Happening centers on a specific theme – e.g. drugs, crime and punishment, et. al. – with host Wood and a roster of comedians recounting their most outrageous can’t-make-this-up true-life tales in front of a live audience at Cheetahs in Hollywood. Upcoming themes include:

This Is Not Happening originally debuted as a digital series on cc.com, which will continue to feature exclusive digital content throughout the run of new episodes. In addition, the recently launched Comedy Central Stand-Up YouTube channel, Comedy Central Stand-Up social-media accounts and the CC App will feature clips from each episode and extended versions of stories. Full episodes of This Is Not Happening will be available the day after premiere on the Comedy Central App, cc.com, on-demand, and download-to-own platforms. Roy joined “The World’s Fakest News Team” in 2015 as a correspondent on Comedy Central’s Emmy Award®-winning hit series The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, and, in 2017, was named the new host of Comedy Central’s storytelling series This is Not Happening which will launch its fifth season in February. Also in 2017, his first Comedy Central one-hour stand-up special Roy Wood Jr.: Father Figure premiered along with an extended, uncensored album of the same name, released by Comedy Central Records. His second Comedy Central one-hour stand-up special, Roy Wood Jr.: No One Loves You, will premiere Friday, January 25, 2019.  Entertainment Weekly has described his thought-provoking comedy as “charismatic crankiness.” Prior to joining The Daily Show, Wood co-starred for two seasons on the TBS series Sullivan & Son. Wood has also appeared on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers, CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and TBS’s Conan. This Is Not Happening was created by Ari Shaffir, Eric Abrams and Avalon’s Sam Saifer. Jeff Tomsic, Saifer, and Abrams (who serves as showrunner and director) are Executive Producers. Mark Palansky also directs. Anne Harris and Ryan Moran are the Executives in Charge of Production for Comedy Central. Wood is represented by UTA and Mainstay Entertainment.
