“THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT” RATINGS HIGHLIGHTS FOR OCT. 19-23

For the week ending Friday, Oct. 23 (week #5 of the 2020-2021 broadcast season), in live plus 3-day lift, THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT (airing from its new studio at The Ed Sullivan Theater) averaged an audience of 2.99 million viewers, beating “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (1.60m) by +87% and “The Tonight Show” (1.51m) by +98%.

NOTE: Thursday, Oct. 2’s live LATE SHOW, which aired after the second presidential debate, delivered 3.89 million live plus 3-day viewers, and posted the show’s largest Thursday audience since March 12. THE LATE SHOW also scored its best Thursday adults 18-49 rating (0.5) since May 7.

Season-to-date, THE LATE SHOW is first in viewers (2.93m), leading “Jimmy Kimmel Live” by +73% (versus 1.69m) and “The Tonight Show” by +98% (versus 1.48m). THE LATE SHOW is also leading both competitors’ late night offerings in adults 18-49 viewers (449,000 for COLBERT vs. Kimmel’s 409,000 and Fallon’s 336,000).

Finally, despite significant K-Pop competition from Blackpink, THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT was once again the #1 late night show on YouTube for views of current content. Colbert’s Thursday night live, post-debate monologue netted 2.9 million views on the platform. (Source: Tubular Labs)
