Tyler Hale was named senior vice president of studio production for CBS Sports in May 2023. He is responsible for the strategy, planning and day-to-day execution of all studio programming across CBS Sports, CBS Sports Network and CBS Sports Digital properties.

Hale joined CBS Sports in 2003 as a producer assigned to the launch of CBS Sports Network, formerly College Sports Television. During his tenure at CBS, he has overseen production of live studio programs from 12 Super Bowls, 19 Final Fours as well as annual coverage of the SEC Championship and the Army-Navy game. Of note, Hale was a member of the leadership team responsible for CBS’ expansive presentation of Super Bowl 50 in Northern California, which included programming across the Company’s Sports, News and Entertainment divisions. That week, Hale’s studio team produced over 85 hours of live pregame content culminating with a four-hour Super Bowl Today. He also has led similar production efforts in the leadup to Super Bowls XLVIII in New Orleans, LII in Atlanta, LV in Tampa and LVIII in Las Vegas.

At CBS Sports Network, Tyler has played a role in nearly all of the Network’s studio production since the channel’s inception. As a producer, he created the flagship program INSIDE COLLEGE FOOTBALL, which celebrated its 20th season in 2022, and across his various management roles he has overseen the development of franchises THAT OTHER PREGAME SHOW, NFL MONDAY QB, WE NEED TO TALK, INSIDE COLLEGE BASKETBALL, BOOMER & GIO, CBS SPORTS HQ SPOTLIGHT, THE JIM ROME SHOW and TIME TO SCHEIN.

For CBS Sports, Hale’s portfolio includes production of THE NFL TODAY, COLLEGE FOOTBALL TODAY and the Company’s ROAD TO THE FINAL FOUR NCAA Tournament studio coverage. From 2014 to 2017, Hale also spearheaded CBS’ live, weekly, on-site studio presence for THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL.

In June 2023, Tyler assumed responsibility for all studio programs under the CBS Sports Digital umbrella with a goal of further aligning the division’s production and editorial standards across all its broadcast, cable and digital projects. This includes oversight of the digital streaming channel CBS SPORTS HQ, video and audio podcast production, featuring notable titles FANTASY FOOTBALL TODAY, COVER 3 and EYE ON COLLEGE BASKETBALL and 247 SPORTS, Paramount’s digital network dedicated to college football and basketball recruiting.

Prior to joining CBS Sports, Tyler served as an associate producer at ESPN where he worked on a wide variety of studio productions, including “SportsCenter,” “College GameDay,” “Sunday NFL Countdown and “NFL Primetime.”

Hale is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication. At Penn, he was a letterwinner and four-year member of the men’s varsity lacrosse team. A proud native of Syracuse, N.Y., Tyler currently resides in Bronxville, N.Y., with his wife Laura and two children.
