Carter Blackburn

Carter Blackburn is a play-by-play announcer for CBS Sports Network’s coverage of college basketball and college football. He also has called games for CBS Sports including NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship games and has contributed to the Network’s coverage of SEC ON CBS and NFL ON CBS. Blackburn also serves as announcer for various sports and events on the Network.

 

Blackburn is a familiar face among the CBS family, having worked for CBS College Sports Network (2003-2009) as an announcer for college football, college basketball and college baseball. He also called games for the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship for CBS Sports in 2008 and 2009.

 

Prior to rejoining CBS, Blackburn worked for ESPN calling college football, college basketball, college lacrosse and other events. From 2001-2003 Blackburn worked for ISP Sports and Fox Sports South in Winston-Salem, N.C. handling a variety of radio and television duties.

 

Blackburn graduated from Syracuse University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication and Political Science. During his time at Syracuse he called football, basketball and lacrosse on WAER-FM and also the Syracuse Radio Network. Blackburn began his broadcasting career while in high school in Kerrville, Texas at KERV-AM calling high school football.
