Jim Nantz Pulls Double Duty Calling Chargers-Bears on Friday Night and

Network's Coverage of 88th PGA Championship on Saturday and Sunday

The CBS Television Network, home of Super Bowl XLI in its 47th year broadcasting the NFL, continues its pre-season schedule with THE NFL ON CBS's second pre-season game as the SAN DIEGO CHARGERS visit the CHICAGO BEARS on Friday, Aug. 18 (8:00 PM, ET) live in prime time on the CBS Television Network.

Jim Nantz joins Phil Simms in calling the action from Soldier Field in Chicago, Ill.  Nantz, pulls double duty this weekend as he also calls the action at the 88th PGA Championship from Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Ill. on Saturday and Sunday.  Lance Barrow, Coordinating Producer, NFL and Golf, also pulls double duty as he produces the pre-season game and the Network's coverage of the PGA Championship.  Mike Arnold is the lead game director. 

As was the first NFL ON CBS pre-season game, this game also will be shown in HDTV with the highest definition television format -- 1080i lines of picture resolution -- along with 5.1 digital audio.  The unified productions for both the standard definition and HD telecasts will feature the same announcers, camera angles and graphics.
