- Steve McKee
Steve McKee joined CBS Sports as a weekend scorer for college football and NFL games in 1998 before being hired full time as a researcher in 1999. After more than 20 years with the Network, McKee was named CBS Sports’ lead producer for college football ahead of the 2026 season, where he will produce a weekly marquee BIG TEN ON CBS game.
Prior to assuming his new role, McKee most recently has contributed to the Network’s coverage of several properties, including as a producer for the NFL ON CBS (2016-2025), and the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament (2017-2025; first and second rounds). He also has contributed to the Network’s GOLF ON CBS coverage for more than two decades, including most recently as a producer for “Masters Live” coverage, as well as Featured Groups coverage at the PGA Championship.
McKee has made extensive contributions to CBS Sports’ college football coverage spanning more than 25 years, including as a producer for five SEC ON CBS games during the 2018 season, in addition to producing Army football games airing on CBS Sports Network dating back to 2013. He previously contributed to the Network’s SEC ON CBS package in various capacities, including as a lead associate director (2008-’13), tape associate director / field producer (2005-’06), and lead broadcast associate (2002-‘04). He additionally served as the lead broadcast associate for CBS Sports’ college football studio coverage (2001-’02).
Over the course of his career, McKee has earned eight Emmy Awards, including recognition as replay producer for CBS Sports' coverage of Super Bowl LVIII, which won the Emmy for Outstanding Live Sports Special.
McKee attended Seton Hall University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in management and industrial relations (1996) and a master's degree in Sports Management (1998). During his time at Seton Hall, he was named the university's Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year while on the men's soccer team. A two-year captain, McKee was also a two-time First Team All-Big East midfielder.
McKee lives in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, with his wife, Jennifer, their daughter, Molly and their son, Stevie.
