Avery Johnson

Avery Johnson joined CBS Sports in 2019 and serves as an analyst for CBS Sports HQ. He has also called games for the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament and was as an analyst for the inaugural HBCU All-Star Game on CBS in 2022. Prior to joining CBS sports, Johnson served as the head coach for the Alabama Crimson Tide Men’s Basketball Team, the Dallas Mavericks and the New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets. Johnson also worked as a studio analyst at ESPN. During his 16-year professional basketball career, Johnson played for the Seattle SuperSonics, Denver Nuggets, Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs, where he won a championship in 1999.
