Emilie Deutsch

Emilie Deutsch serves as Vice President, Original Programming and Features, CBS Sports, where she oversees production for all features, original programming and documentaries that air on CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network.

The six-time Emmy Award winner has produced or overseen the production of network feature and documentary content for major sporting events including three Olympic games, the Super Bowl, NCAA Tournament, Kentucky Derby and Indy 500, among others. While at CBS, Emilie originated NCAA CONFIDENTIAL, the exclusive all-access initiative of the NCAA Tournament, and helped develop and launch the first-ever all-female national sports talk show, WE NEED TO TALK, on CBS Sports Network. Deutsch was a driving force behind the creation of FOUR SIDES OF THE STORY, a CBS Sports documentary series giving viewers at least four different perspectives of a pivotal sports event. She also has overseen the production of a number of specials including:

  • Althea & Arthur

  • Tackling Segregation: USC vs Alabama 1970

  • Uninvited: The 1951 USF Dons

  • First & Goal in the Bronx: Grambling vs Morgan State 1968

  • Forward Progress: The Integration of SEC Football

  • 1966 Texas Western: A Championship of Change

  • The Black 14: Wyoming Football 1969.

In addition to her Emmy Awards, Deutsch has also earned Christopher and Gracie Awards, as well as the Arthur Ashe Leadership Award for her work on African-Americans and women in sports. She currently serves on the boards of the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, Ky. and the Collegiate Women Sports Award.

Prior to joining CBS Sports, Deutsch served as Coordinating Producer at ABC Sports, where she spent 18 years focusing primarily on features and documentaries, and working on programs such as the Olympic Games, the Pan Am Games, Monday Night Football, College Football, Monday Night Baseball, the Indy 500, the Ironman Triathlon, the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, and many other Wide World of Sports events.

Deutsch graduated from Stanford University with a degree in International Relations. She has three children and lives with her husband in New Rochelle, N.Y.
