Mowins also calls Oakland Raiders preseason football, becoming just the second woman to handle NFL play-by-play duties.

At ESPN, Mowins calls men’s and women’s college basketball, and is the only female play-by-play announcer on college football. For over 20 years she has been the voice of the Women’s College World Series. Her resume also includes calling the Women’s World Cup and NCAA women’s championships in basketball, volleyball and soccer.

Mowins is a graduate of Lafayette College, where she captained the basketball team. She was a three-time All-Conference selection, a 1,000-point scorer, and is still the school’s all-time assist leader with 715.

Mowins has a Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University. The Syracuse native is a member of the Lafayette College Maroon Club Hall of Fame and the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame.

In 2015 Mowins received the prestigious Marty Glickman Award for Leadership in Sports Media from Syracuse University, joining previous winners Bob Costas and Marv Albert. In 2014 she received the CoSida Jake Wade Award for outstanding contributions in the media to collegiate athletics.
