“THE NFL TODAY’s” SHANNON SHARPE VISITS BALTIMORE RAVENS JOE FLACCO, RAY RICE, TERRELL SUGGS AND HALOTI NGATA; AND SEATTLE SEAHAWKS’ ROOKIE QUARTERBACK RUSSELL WILSON FEATURED FOR WILD CARD WEEK OF “THE NFL TODAY” ON SUNDAY, JAN. 6

THE NFL ON CBS, continues its 53rd year broadcasting the NFL with coverage of the 2013 American Football Conference Playoffs with the national broadcast of Wild Card Playoff Game #2 on Sunday, Jan. 6 (1:00 PM, ET) live on the CBS Television Network.  The #5-seeded INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (11-5) visit the AFC North Champions and #4-seeded BALTIMORE RAVENS (10-6).  THE NFL ON CBS’s coverage begins with THE NFL TODAY (12:00 Noon-1:00 PM, ET), live from the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City.

THE NFL TODAY’s Shannon Sharpe visits his old team in previewing the Ravens’ game against one of the NFL’s hottest teams, the feel-good Colts, by visiting with Joe Flacco, Ray Rice, Terrell Suggs and Haloti Ngata as they play knowing that their heart and soul for the past 17 years, Ray Lewis, announced his retirement following the season.  The AFC North champions have lost four of their last five, while the Colts are riding high on the return of their coach Chuck Pagano and the play of their quarterback Rookie of the Year candidate Andrew Luck.  Will this be the final game for Lewis in his Hall of Fame career?  Deb Gelman is the producer.

Also featured on THE NFL TODAY is another Rookie of the Year candidate quarterback in the playoffs, Seattle’s Russell Wilson.  While Indianapolis's Luck and Washington's Robert Griffin III were the first two picks in the 2012 NFL Draft, Seattle waited until the third round before striking gold with Wilson.  The rookie sensation threw 26 touchdown passes, tying Peyton Manning's rookie record, en route to leading the Seahawks to an 11-5 record and a playoff berth.  Wilson goes head-to-head with RG III as his team tries to win its first road playoff game since 1983.  Can he lead the Seahawks to the Super Bowl?  Jeff St. Arromand is the producer.

Jim Nantz and Phil Simms report live from Baltimore on the Colts-Ravens game.  And Lesley Visser reports live from Landover, Md. on the Seattle Seahawks-Washington Redskins NFC Wild Card game.

James Brown hosts THE NFL TODAY, along with analysts Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason, Sharpe and Bill Cowher, NFL Insider Jason La Canfora, as well as Visser reporting.
