CBS SPORTS BROADCASTS "RBC CANADIAN OPEN" AS TOURNAMENT HEADS WEST TO VANCOUVER THIS WEEKEND, JULY 23-24

The RBC CANADIAN OPEN heads west to Vancouver as Canada's national championship will be played for the first time since 2005 at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club with a strong field that includes No. 1 World-ranked Luke Donald, two-time RBC Canadian Open winner Jim Furyk, Matt Kuchar, Ernie Els and Rickie Fowler. CBS Sports covers all the action from Vancouver, B.C., broadcasting the third and final rounds on Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24 (3:00-6:00 PM, ET, both days), live on the CBS Television Network. 

 

Bill Macatee anchors CBS Sports' coverage of the RBC Canadian Open from the 18th hole tower this weekend alongside Ian Baker-FinchPeter Oosterhuis, who won the 1981 Canadian Open, calls the action at the 17th hole and Peter Kostis at the 16th hole.   David Feherty   serves as on-course reporter.

Last year, Carl Pettersson earned his fourth career victory with a one stroke win over Dean Wilson at the RBC Canadian Open at St. George's Golf and Country Club in Etobicoke, Ontario.  The last Canadian to win this tournament was Pat Fletcher in 1954. Canada's only major championship winner, Mike Weir (2003 Masters®), has yet to win the Canadian Open but came close in 2004 when he lost a playoff to Vijay Singh. Pettersson and Weir, in his 21st start at the Open, take on a field that includes four other Canadians, Stephen Ames, Chris Baryla, David Hearn and Matt McQuillan as well as seven 2011 PGA TOUR winners this season:  Donald, Lucas Glover, Charl Schwartzel, Keegan Bradley, Harrison Frazar, Brendan Steele and Johnson Wagner.  The impressive field of the world's top players also includes Furyk, Kuchar, Els, Fowler, Geoff Ogilvy, Hunter Mahan, Louis Oosthuizen, Anthony Kim, Paul Casey, Bo Van Pelt, Camilo Villegas, Steve Flesch, Jose Maria Olazabal, Ben Crane, Sean O'Hair, Chez Reavie, David Duval, Charlie Wi, Stuart Appleby, Chad Campbell, Andres Romero, Tim Herron, Paul Goydos, Rich Beem and Ryan Moore.
