DR. ANDREW ORDON, HOST OF THE DOCTORS, TO TRAVEL TO INDIA WITH SMILE TRAIN TO PERFOM FREE CLEFT SURGERIES ON CHILDREN
On Tuesday, March 2nd, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon, one of the hosts of the Emmy-nominated syndicated series THE DOCTORS, from Stage 29 Productions and CBS Television Distribution, will travel to India to perform cleft palate surgeries in partnership with Smile Train, the world's leading cleft charity whose mission is to help the more than 4.7 million children in developing countries who are suffering with unrepaired clefts.
"We are so honored to have Dr. Ordon become a Smile Train partner surgeon at one of our hospitals in India," said Brian Mullaney, Co-Founder and President of Smile Train. "His life will be changed forever when he scrubs in to provide just one of the hundreds of free surgeries we do every day of the year, around the world, to a child born with a cleft. We're thrilled to have this opportunity to tell our story and build awareness of the problem of clefts so that even more kids can be helped."
"Having recently spent time in Haiti after the earthquake, I am really looking forward to getting back out in the field and helping kids who really need it," states Dr. Ordon. "There is nothing more fulfilling than knowing I had a hand in making a child's life better."
Footage from Dr. Ordon's trip to India will air in an upcoming episode of THE DOCTORS, to be announced at a later date.
