DAWN ABEL PROMOTED TO EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, RESEARCH, CBS TELEVISION DISTRIBUTION
LOS ANGELES - January 22, 2007 - Dawn Abel has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Research, at CBS Television Distribution, it was announced today by John Nogawski, President and Chief Operating Officer of CTD.
Abel was previously Senior Vice President, Research, for the company. With her promotion she will continue to head up the research department, overseeing all quantitative and qualitative research for CBS Television Distribution, CBS Paramount International Television and CBS Paramount Network Television.
"We are fortunate to have Dawn's extensive experience in both research and programming," Nogawski said. "The blend of analytical expertise and creativity that she brings to the table, coupled with her reputation in the research arena of our business, is why this promotion is so well deserved."
Aside from a three-year stint as Senior Vice President of Research for Carsey-Werner-Mandabach from 2000 to 2003, Abel has been with CBS/Paramount since 1985, holding numerous research and programming positions.
From 1998 to 2000, she was Vice President of Sales Development and Special Projects for Paramount Domestic Television (now CBS Television Distribution), where she launched the Division's first two web sites for "Leeza" and "The Montel Williams Show." From 1994 to 1998, she served as Vice President of Programming, responsible for all aspects of production on "Leeza" during its three highest-rated seasons while overseeing production on "Sightings" and the animated series "Duckman." She first joined Paramount in 1985, was promoted to Executive Director in 1992, and to Vice President of Research in 1993.
