Chris (Tyler James Williams) becomes Bed-Stuy's favorite odds-maker after Doc (Antonio Fargas) discovers he has a natural talent for predicting a game's outcome.  However, Chris' lucky streak comes to a crashing halt when a bookie, Paulie (Vincent Pastore), shows up at Chris' front door.  Meanwhile, Tonya (Imani Hakim) decides it's about time she beat Drew (Tequan Richmond) at checkers, and Julius (Terry Crews) goes behind Rochelle's (Tichina Arnold) back and places a bet on the upcoming basketball game, not realizing it's his son - Chrissy the Black - calling the shots.  Vincent Martella also stars.  The episode directed by Jason Alexander was written by Aeysha Carr.  (#041)

After secretly listening to his parents' comedy albums, Chris (Tyler James Williams) tries out some dirty jokes on his classmates and discovers that making people laugh is the key to popularity, but his teacher has a different take on the situation.  Rochelle (Tichina Arnold) decides the best way to get her mother, Maxine (guest star Loretta Devine), out of her business is to find her a man, and Drew (Tequan Richmond) begins getting unwanted attention from a girl in the neighborhood.  Terry Crews, Imani Hakim and Vincent Martella also star.  The episode directed by Keith Truesdell was written by Matthew Claybrooks.  (#042)

THE BEAUTIES AND GEEKS ARE BACK...WITH A TWIST! - To kick-off the two-hour premiere, last season's favorites Nate and Jennylee, along with host Mike Richards, embark on a nationwide casting search for the newest crop of beauties and geeks.  The final twenty contestants expect business as usual - gorgeous but academically impaired women pairing with brilliant but socially challenged men to test intellect and social skills for a chance to win the $250,000 grand prize.  However, on their first day in the mansion, they learn that they'll have to compete against one pair that's the opposite - a hot guy and a geeky girl - which immediately throws the rest of the house into turmoil.  A backyard barbecue gets spicy when the beauties and geeks select their partner in a unique way (#401/402).

"The Girls Go Cruisin' " (TV-PG, DL)

AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL SAILS THE HIGH SEAS -Thirty-three aspiring models board a Caribbean cruise ship and are immediately greeted by their cruise director, J. Alexander. Tyra surprises the girls with a lounge singing performance, and the competition gets tough as strong personalities rise and the catfights begin. One model gets sick and one model is hated by the rest of the group. Meanwhile, the models must participate in a life jacket runway walk and a beach photo shoot. Later, Tyra, Jay Manuel and J. Alexander deliberate and Tyra names the 13 finalists.  Special guests include cycle 8 winner Jaslene. (#901).

JOSH SCHWARTZ ("THE O.C.") BRINGS HIS LATEST TEEN DRAMA, "GOSSIP GIRL," TO THE CW - Filmed entirely in New York and based on the popular series of young-adult novels by Cecily von Ziegesar, "Gossip Girl" revolves around the privileged prep school teens on Manhattan's Upper East Side and the anonymous blogger, Gossip Girl, who provides them with the latest gossip about their exclusive circle.  In the series opener, Gossip Girl is busy spreading the news that "it girl" Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) has returned to Manhattan after a mysterious and self-imposed exile to boarding school.  Serena's best friend, Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), has conflicted feelings about her friend's return since she has enjoyed being the Queen Bee during Serena's absence and might not be ready to relinquish her new position on the social ladder, not to mention the fact that she has always suspected there may be unspoken feelings between Serena and her longtime boyfriend, Nate (Chace Crawford).  Penn Badgley, Taylor Momsen, Ed Westwick, Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle also star.  Mark Piznarski directed the pilot written by executive producers Josh Schwartz & Stephanie Savage (#100).
